When I picked this book up at my local library, I was not sure whether it tied in to the book series or in to the tv show series. As it turns out, it ties into the tv show series. Being a fan of the show, I love the insight you get into the character Stefan's life before he was turned into a vampire. You get to read first hand what happened between him and Katherine, the events that lead up to him becoming a vampire and how he feels through out the time he's known Katherine. I suggest that every TVD fan should read the series of Stefan's Diaries, because you learn so much about the characters, their history, and how they became and why they are the way they are.
